Mr. Parmley was born on January 9, 1948 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was the son of Robert Edward and Chrystal Vest Parmley. Corpsman Parmley was sent to Vietnam in 1969 with the Fleet Marines. He was killed in action in Quang Nam Province, Republic of South Vietnam on August 25, 1969.
